Alex Di Santo on his journey from Fund Administrator to Director of Private Equity

Our Jersey fund administration business was relatively small when I joined it in 2006 but we've grown significantly and I now head up a team of over 60 employees who are primarily focused on servicing alternative investment fund managers.

Moving with client demand

Fast forward 12 years and the world is a very different place. In a faster moving world with greater demands for transparency and a need to comply with ever increasing regulation, digital transformation is critical. Our clients and their investors are becoming increasingly sophisticated and not only see value creation as the primary driver to success but also operational excellence.

A team of experts

So the world has changed significantly and so have we….but our people continue to be the single most important part of our business. The technical experts we have in the team have become more and more specialist to meet the demands of our industry. As our clients grow and diversify we've had to invest in our people. Whether its fund administration, fund accounting or fund technology, all of our employees play a critical part in the success of our business.

Learning and development opportunities

Intertrust has an enviable range of training opportunities to nurture our talent. We also run a Global Mobility Programme which offers placements and secondments to our other offices around the world which enables employees to share knowledge with global colleagues and learn about best practice in other jurisdictions. Intertrust has supported my development over the 13 years I've been in the business and it's very rewarding seeing members of the team on their own journeys.

Being the best at what we do

We are a true global leader in expert administration services and this global reach is of increasing importance to our alternative investment fund manager clients who are considering an increasing number of fund domiciles taking into consideration for example investor, investment, and compliance parameters. Our identity has changed over the years but our core culture and values have remained constant….we're driven by a desire to be the best at what we do and deliver truly exceptional service to our clients. It is the clients and employees that keep the job interesting as we continue to grow together and work collaboratively on the next challenge.

Our business embraces change and I'm personally looking forward to seeing where the next 10 years takes us.
