Your Opportunity

The Risk & Compliance (RC) Director is responsible for 2nd line of defence (lod) risk management and compliance activities in the country, in accordance with 3 lod risk governance. The RC Director will partner with business segment and functional heads to promote efficient and sound business processes and practices, a healthy risk culture,  risk-informed decision-making, effective risk control & mitigation measures, accountability and compliance with laws & regulations applicable to a Professional of the Financial Sector (PSF). Additionally, this RC Director manages/oversees the RC teams in some of the smaller countries in the WE region.

Your Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Appropriately and pro-actively identify, evaluate, investigate and resolve risk issues/concerns
  • Maintain, review and update the risk cartography and the local risk register
  • Be part of and work in close co-operation with the global GRC (governance, risk, compliance) team to roll out cq maintain the Risk framework and Risk & Compliance Monitoring Programme (RCMP) and ensuring appropriate reporting
  • Ensure that risk management priorities are reflected in strategic plans and initiatives
  • Advise and collaborate with risks owners on identifying, assessing and mitigating risks and control weaknesses
  • Integrate audit findings into risk management system
  • Contribute to the testing of the business continuity and disaster recovery plan and ensure BCP procedure is updated when required
  • Support internal and external audit
  • Foster accurate and timely communication of risks, incidents, and opportunities that affect or could impact Intertrust
  • Reduce the risk of theft, fraud, misuse of facilities and human error
  • Ensure an appropriate training & education programme on risk (& compliance) matters for the country

Compliance

  • Apply Intertrust’s group and local compliance & risk standards in a consistent and aligned manner
  • Provide timely and high-quality compliance and risk advice to the business and functions, and ensure business needs are being met
  • Ensure the compliance & risk management policies and strategies follow applicable laws and regulations and strategic objectives
  • Work in close co-operation with the Global Heads GRC to maintain cq  roll out the Risk framework and Compliance Monitoring Programme (RCMP) and ensure appropriate reporting
  • Highlight relevant compliance risk signals for Luxembourg
  • Be the point of contact for and have a transparent relationship and mutual understanding with the CSSF and/or CRF
  • Monitor, test and report on compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures and corrective action plans. Monitor and follow up with implementation of corrective action plan.
  • Manage compliance with privacy and information security, safeguarding requirements
  • Maintain the inventory of mandated reporting and monitor for compliance
  • Maintain/ develop/ enhance communication with the business segments and functional areas to ensure compliance with the regulatory framework
  • Steer the acceptance process of new clients and prospects in close cooperation with the business segments
  • Be a decision taker on the acceptance of new client relationship
  • Oversee internal and external reviews, audits, inspection and investigation
  • Ensure an appropriate training program on (risk &) compliance matters for the country

Furthermore, you will be:

  • Managing the local risk & compliance team of ca 10 fte
  • Training and informing local staff on compliance and risk topics and legal / regulatory developments
  • Helping local / regional / global staff by answering risk & compliance related questions and responding to requests
  • Acting in accordance with standards set by CRO/Global GRC
  • Identifying and assessing risks through an active (transaction) monitoring and testing program
  • Creating a positive and engaging compliance spirit and risk awareness
  • Supporting the business by advising on new product & services development, client acceptance procedures and organisational changes
  • Involved in new projects and new activities in order to timely assess and address the risks associated with the project/activity
  • A member of the local Management team

Your Profile

  • Has a degree in Economy, Finance or Law
  • Has at least 5-7 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Has an excellent command of verbal and written English, French and/or any other language would be considered as an advantage
  • Good knowledge of risk management methodologies
  • Excellent industry knowledge and experience, in particular in Funds and corporate services
  • Good knowledge of internal audit and control methodologies
  • Good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Experience in conducting internal and external investigations
  • Experience in management and leadership, solutions driven
  • Experience in remote and virtual working environment, matrix organization
  • Obtained working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ViewPoint would be considered as an advantage
  • Has excellent organisational skills and is able to work under pressure
  • Has an ability to manage work and prioritise effectively
  • Possesses a strong (internal & external) customer service orientation
  • Is actively engaged and committed to the collective goals and work of the team, offering assistance and information to ensure team goals are met.
