Director Compliance

We are looking for a Director Compliance to join our Risk & Compliance team at Intertrust in the Netherlands. In this role you will join an international team of colleagues and will be leading and coaching a team of 8 staff. Next to this, you will be advising and guiding the Intertrust Netherlands service lines, ensuring timely execution of the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan.

Your responsibilities
 

The scope of the role is as follows: 

  • Managing a team of 8 compliance professionals, set objectives for the team and manage performance to achieve those
  • Appropriately and pro-actively identifying, evaluating, investigating and resolving compliance risks/ issues
  • Providing timely and high quality compliance advice to the business, and ensuring business needs are met
  • Be an expert in the allocated field of responsibility, being able to provide advice and technical input as required to both client teams and operations staff
  • Working with the service lines to provide guidance and pro-active compliance and regulatory advice in relation to the assessment of new business and the reassessment of existing business. This includes ad hoc advice and guidance on compliance and regulatory matters
  • Following regulatory trends, keeping track of changes to laws and regulations relevant to the Intertrust Netherlands business, including but not limited to ASTO, AML and Sanctions laws, and ensuring these are incorporated in the respective internal policies
  • Collating and analysing management information and developing and delivering Compliance reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders
  • Preparing and delivering  relevant training to staff on anti-money laundering and the countering of terrorist financing (AML/CFT), and regulatory compliance matters
  • Supporting the Director Risk & Compliance, Netherlands to engage in wider business projects from a Compliance perspective. To ensure that regulatory and legal aspects are considered and implemented and to communicate the same within the Compliance team
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with all client teams offering guidance and development when required and assist in any training needs

Your profile

  • Academic degree in Economy, Finance or Law; postgraduate degree in Compliance preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience of successfully working within a Compliance function of a large financial corporate services provider or a corporate/ wholesale banking unit  
  • Good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Good understanding of the range of fiduciary products offered by Intertrust in The Netherlands
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Is actively engaged and committed to ensure collective team targets are achieved
  • Leadership and solutions driven
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch language (oral and in writing)
  • Demonstrated effective communicator
