The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for the provision of accounting services in accordance with the relevant Client Services Agreements and the various laws and regulations pertaining to the Group’s Guernsey regulatory licences.
The key responsibilities for the role are noted below and as an Accounts Assistant Manager, Private Wealth you will also be expected to undertake any such duties that are deemed a reasonable requirement, for example, participating in any relevant projects that are related to the role. In addition, you will be required to participate in business and social events organised for management and staff.
·To complete day to day book-keeping and accounting on complex portfolios of both private wealth and corporate services cases;
·Assist the Manager to ensure all accounting tasks are being fully completed in a professional and timely manner;
·Meet financial targets in terms of budgeted chargeable hours, recovery rates and debtors;
·In the absence of the Manager, liaise with the Associate Directors and Directors on all accounting matters;
·Review regularly with the Senior Accountants to ensure that invoicing fees and controlling debt management for the team are being managed in a proactive and timely manner;
·Delegate to supporting Senior Accountants to ensure they receive opportunities to stretch and develop people management skills that you can rely upon;
·Provide on the job training and guidance for less experienced members of the team;
·Monitor team’s compliance review points and ensure that the accountants resolve these review points in a timely manner.
·Review Team procedures and processes with the aim of achieving greater efficiencies as appropriate;
·Proactively keep an up-to-date awareness of current industry issues e.g. relevant accounting standards and maintain a high degree of technical knowledge;
