The Senior Financial Account Manager (SFAM) is the initiator in the depositary team. The depositary team supervise the alternative investment institutions (AII) in accordance with the AIFM Directive. Our clients are primarily operating in the private equity and real estate sector.
The SFAM key overall responsibilities are (i) Supervision of funds and the compliance with AIFMD (ii) Create WP (and verified by the Senior FAM) to document the activities of the fund in relation to the AIFMD on an event-driven and periodical basis (iii) Being in close contact or be the first point of contact for clients, advisors and other parties (iv) Providing commercial support and manage relationships internal and external (v) Keeping up to date on the market developments and AIFMD updates as well as client demands and competitor movements.
The SFAM performs the duties independently and works closely with the (Medior) Fund Lawyer (FL) in order to review, analyse, verify and document the activities within the fund are compliant with the AIFMD, and therefore, with the law and the fund’s terms and conditions.
Supervise whether the AIF is in compliance with the AFIMD rules and procedures with respect to the different legal fund forms;
Monitor and reconcile cash that flows in and out of the investment accounts and ward for significances and inconsistencies;
Perform safekeeping duties to review, analyse, verify and document the assets that are owned by the alternative investment fund;
Keep oversight on all the fund’s activities to analyse, verify and document whether capital calls, contributions, redemptions, investments, divestments, sales, and share purchases are compliant with the law and the rules & procedures as set forth in the fund’s terms and conditions, prospectus and management agreements.
Business Continuation and Development
Consultation with clients, advisors and other parties involved;
Collaborate with other FAM’s and Fund Lawyers (FL) on the financial and legal aspects of the AIFMD;
Providing support in the commercial activities and building/expanding internal and external relationships;
Responsible for the transfer of knowledge to junior members of the team;
Implement improvement proposals;
Attend meetings of prospects and intermediaries in order to present Intertrust and its services;
Responsible for the negotiation of new fees with existing clients.
Academic degree Business, Economics, Finance;
7+ years’ experience for a Senior FAM;
Multiple years of relevant experience in the NL and EU funds services market is a pre;
Fluent in Dutch and English;
Balanced planning and organisation of work (client’s, own and for team);
Knowledge of AIFMD, ISAE 3402, SLA’s and alternative investment funds/structures;
Team player with a positive critical and pro-active attitude, a strong personality.
